Bombay Mix
is based in south east London
and stages various screenings and events,
presenting films and arts concerning the
entire Indian subcontinent and
South Asian people worldwide.
We go beyond Bollywood and promote new, independent films that address
the issues and themes that matter to contemporary audiences. We also occasionally
show the best of the classics. In this way we provide an enjoyable but
selective programme -- both for those who know and love the genre -- as
well as for those who are new to it.
In November 2008 we staged an exciting multimedia
festival titled DestinAsians, across various venues
including the
Greenwich
Picturehouse, the National
Maritime Museum and the Viewfinder
Photography Gallery.
Our previous events included a major three-day festival at Greenwich
Picturehouse cinema in August 2007, celebrating the 60th anniversary
of Indian independence. It included screenings of epic Bollywood and
independent features, short films, live music and dance, art installations
and more.

In November 2009 we are staging
an exclusive screening event in partnership with Channel 4, at the Royal
Society of Arts. This will feature short films, a preview of their
new series The Family, a panel discussion
and a reception. In February 2010, we are staging a three-day festival
at the Cine
Lumiere. See Future Events for more.
