Hello and welcome to the all-new Bombay Mix website and blog!
After much hard work the new Bombay Mix website is finally up and running! We have redesigned it based loosely around the previous one – so current users will still feel at home – but have added a host of new features and improvements. Firstly, a streamlined events listing system clearly lets you know what's on, as well as documenting our previous events. These listings are now enhanced with new zoom-able image galleries for each event.
We're also introducing this new blog, which will feature reviews, interviews, news and opinion – as well as useful info for filmmakers and artists who want to make submissions or get involved. Please feel free to add your comments to the blog posts. We're also showcasing video for the first time and looking forward to seeing this section of the site grow over time.
The other good news for us is that the site now incorporates a Content Management System enabling the Bombay Mix team to update the listings and content themselves. This is also great news for users of the site, as it will be more regularly maintained and up-to-date than previously.
For those of you who are interested (any web/design geeks out there?!) the site has been designed using a 12-column grid on a 960 pixel width page by Bombay Mix's own Lionel Openshaw (who designs all of BM's publicity, graphics and branding). Many thanks are also due to Husain Fazel who did the coding and created the bespoke CMS for the new site; and to Sue Lawes (FiveToNine Design), who helped develop and maintain the site up to now.
We're currently in 'beta' mode, so there may be some glitches – please bear with us while we iron them out and add more content. As with most websites this is a constant work-in-progress, and we're already scheming on how to develop it and make it more sophisticated in future. Meanwhile we very much welcome your feedback on the new site...
